But here is where you will find my silly side, pictures pictures and more pictures and much more babble and photography talk.  I needed another outlet to share with all my clients and friends exactly how much I love photography and the art of capturing life's moments.  I am here to say that it is never too late to give up on your dreams, follow you heart my friends and be true to who you are.  It is the only way to find out in this life what it is you are supposed to do.  I am almost 40... (gasps) But here I am taking pictures and I can't imagine having it any other way,  Thanks for being here and please come back often as I will do my best to update as much as possible with all kinds of crazy picture taken goodness.

Two Pretty Sisters

These girls were so much fun to shoot.  They are gorgeous, funny, and just like my boys total opposites.  I was so happy to photograph such sweet little faces. 

Back to School

Had fun taking a few pictures of the boys a week before they start school...  Ended up going with cute T-shirts that totally reflects their personalities and spirits.  I am already missing them, but excited for their new adventure.  Evan (in the tie shirt) is my serious book worm.  Loves to learn and embraced Kindergartner like it was hi best friend. He moves on to the 1st grade.  Ryan (A+ Shirt) is my silly heart, my fun guy, the dude who can't get enough of sports, and also the dude who will go out of his way to make someone happy.  The more I photgraph these guys the more I am so happyto be thier Mom.

Yet another beauty I was able to photograph for senior year pictures.  With her beautiful eyes, her love for Harry Potter and Narnia, she was pretty much a story with in her self.  I love her sweet smile, her awesome cowboy boots and did I mention her eyes??? BEAUFTIFUL!

Outer Banks Week

For half of my life we vacationed in a place called Nags Head, North Carolina right in the heart of the Outer Banks.

It was the beach I grew up coming too and it is the same beach my husband and I have brought our boys to for the past several years. 
It is a wonderful place full of old memories for me.
While all beaches are different Nags Head screams of history, telling a tale of an  sea men come and gone and fisherman's home full of  of old shaker style homes, the kind with the long wrap around wooden porches with benches built in.   Old fashion Hurricane shutters in all shapes sizes and colors.  A town with a rich history of Blackbeard roaming the beach at night to sunken treasure buried under Jockey's Ridge to the Wright Brothers flying the first place out of Kitty Hawk. All kinds of people come here for vacation.  It was not your fancy schmanzy kind of beach.  You won't find high luxury high rises with endless loops of pools and lazy rivers.  You won't find night clubs and highly packed amusement parks.  Instead you will find endless rows of cottages, beach homes that can fit several families and some that have long since been abandoned and have taken some hits from the weather and a few small Motels speckled through out.  And yes just like every beach town there is plenty of stores, tourist hot spots and Miniature golf, old fashion seafood restaurants that haven been owned and operated for years.  The overall feel is simple, quiet, a sandy bliss of family locals and everyone in between coming together to just enjoy what the Outer banks can offer,.  Sun, sand, a long pier to fish from and of course the ocean breeze.
My mission this trip was to try and capture the old Nags Head feel.  The scenic cottages, the blue green water, families having fun, tid bit's of beach scenes.  But of course my mission was also to capture my family as we make more memories for Beach Week 2011.  Hope you enjoy the story in photos of one of my favorite places on Earth.


First....  This was our cozy cottage for the week.....

It had the kind of decor that reminded me so much of what Nags Head is all about.  Simple, weathered and a ton of history...

The one window in our upstairs bedroom.  Thanks to Outer Bank cross breezes we were able to sleep with it open most nights.  Talk about being lulled to sleep with the sound of the waves.....

I was in love with the doors in our house.  I don't know why, but just felt like taking a picture. 

This cottage was two doors down from us and reminded me a lot of the one we went to growing up.  My favorite part of the house..  The Shutters!
 

This house was next to ours.  Closed up and vacant for sometime.  On the day it rained it really looked historical to me.  I was fascinated with this house for some reason, I wondered who lived there and what their story could be...

After the rain I walked over and took a pic of those Shutters that are on just about every home in Nags Head.  Agian for some reason I had a thing for windows and doors on this trip...

The Nags Head Fishing Pier was within walking disatnce to our house.

Peliquins were flying over all week long....  They are my favorite bird and favorite symbol of the beach.

NASCAR Race

Something really cools happens the week before Memorial Day here in Charlotte.  If you are a NASCAR fan it just might be your favorite time of the year.  The All Star Race always provides a lot of excitement and fun for not only the drivers but also the fan's.  This year I was lucky enough to be in the Pit's and got to see some drivers up close along with the true look and feel of what Nascar is all about.  Not just the sport itself, but the sight the sounds and of course the fan's and how they truly love this sport.
